Privacy policy
What personal information Stackt Marketing collects, why we collect it, who else handles it, and how you can see, fix or remove what we hold about you.
Who we are
Stackt Marketing is the trading name of a partnership between Lochie John Burgdorf and Adrian Fowler. In this policy, "Stackt", "we", "us" and "our" mean that partnership. We are based in Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
This policy covers personal information we handle through our website and while providing our marketing services. We handle it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
Details you give us
When you send us an enquiry, request a free marketing review or fill in any other form on our site, we may ask for:
- your name
- your email address and phone number
- the name of your business
- your industry or trade
- which parts of your marketing you'd like us to look at
- anything you choose to tell us about your situation or enquiry
Details collected as you browse
Our site also records some information automatically about your visit and your device, such as:
- the pages you view and how long you stay on each
- whether you're on a phone, tablet or computer
- which browser you use
- your approximate country and city, worked out from your internet protocol (IP) address
- the site or link that sent you to us
- campaign tags on the link you clicked, known as Urchin Tracking Module (UTM) parameters
Our own analytics database does not keep your IP address.
How we use it
We use personal information to:
- reply to your enquiry and deliver the services you ask for
- tell you about our services, where you've agreed to hear from us
- understand how people use our site so we can make it better
- measure how well our own advertising and marketing is working
- keep the site secure and guard against fraud
Cookies and tracking
Our site uses cookies and similar tools. Here is what each one is for.
Essential cookies
These keep the site running properly, for example by managing your session.
Our own analytics
We run our own analytics to see how visitors move through the site, which helps us improve our pages and services. This data sits in your browser's session storage and is cleared when you close the browser.
Session recordings and heatmaps
We work with Microsoft Clarity, which records how you use and interact with our site through behaviour metrics, heatmaps and session replays. It uses first-party and third-party cookies and other tracking tools to show which products and services are popular and how people behave online. We use what it tells us to improve the site, to help with fraud prevention and security, and for advertising. The Microsoft Privacy Statement explains how Microsoft collects and uses data.
Advertising measurement
We use the Meta Pixel in your browser to measure how our ads on Facebook and Instagram perform, and it may collect information about what you do on our site. When you submit a form, our server can also send a matching event straight to Meta through its Conversions API (an application programming interface, or API, that links our server to Meta). That event may include your email address, phone number and name in hashed (scrambled) form, along with your IP address, browser details, Meta's cookie identifiers and the page you were on. Meta uses this to match the enquiry to an ad and to avoid counting it twice. You can limit how Meta uses your data through your Facebook ad settings.
Tag management
We use a tag management tool to load some of the measurement tools described on this page.
Who we share it with
We don't sell personal information. We do rely on outside providers to run our website and business, and some of them receive or store your details. They fall into these groups:
- website hosting and database providers, which run the site and store form submissions (our form database is held in Australia)
- email and customer relationship tools, which deliver your enquiry to our team and help us follow it up
- analytics and session recording tools, which show us how visitors use the site
- advertising platforms, which measure how our ads perform, including the form event described above
- payment and accounting providers, if you become a client
Enquiries are also passed to our internal reporting dashboard so we can follow up and see where they came from. Each provider handles your data under its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Overseas handling
Some of the providers described above are based outside Australia, mainly in the United States, and may store or process information there. When that happens, their handling of it is governed by their own terms and the laws of the places they operate.
How long we keep it
We hold personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. Enquiry and form details are kept for up to three years unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Analytics data is kept for up to two years.
Your rights
Australian privacy law gives you the right to:
- see the personal information we hold about you
- have us correct anything that's wrong
- have us delete your information
- stop our marketing messages at any time
- take a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, known as the OAIC
To use any of these rights, or to raise a privacy concern with us first, get in touch using the details at the end of this page. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. Even so, no online transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so we can't promise absolute security.
Young people
Our services are meant for people aged 18 and over, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger. If you think someone under 18 has sent us their details, please let us know and we'll remove them.
Updates to this policy
We may revise this policy over time. The date near the top of the page shows when it last changed, so it's worth checking back now and then.
